Yesterday she started vomiting...by this morning she was still vomiting. I took her to the vet and she saw what she was doing. It appeared that she was coughing so hard and so much she was gagging herself. Vet gave her a shot to settle her stomach and gas me cough med and antibiotics. Told me to see how she does with that...if I need her she will be available all weekend so just call. I live about 20000 feet from her office. I drove home and then tried giving Jazi her med as instructed. Jazi fought me like crazy! Next thing I know she is screaming like crazy! And coughing and gagging. I have never heard a puppy scream like this. She sounded like a human baby! I grabbed her and jumped in the car and went right back to the vet. The doc checked her over and then took xrays.
Doc says she has swallowed something and it is stuck in her esophagus. Doc does'nt think it is hard...maybe a piece of material. Doc says I need to take her to a place that does endoscopy because she does not and there is no one in our town that does. The closest place is hours away and may cost hundreds of dollars just to check her then if she needs surgery I maybe upwards of six, seven hundred dollars or more. I have no way to get there and do not have that kind of money.

The doc says only thing she can do is keep her, watch her, keep her hydrated and out of pain and see if the obstruction moves on its own. She will take more xrays to see if the obstruction moves any. If it doesn't appear that anything will change she can go in through her belly and try to save her that way. There are no guarantees because someone who does endoscopy should really be doing it but she can try her best. Since I can't get to the other docs and can't pay for the other docs my only other option is to have her put to sleep if my vet doesn't try.

So right now she is at the vet and I am praying the obstruction starts to move on its own. I am hoping Jazi gets it to come up or it moves into her stomach. If it moves into her stomach the vet will have no problem with the operation.

Please pray for my baby Jazi that the obstruction moves so she can live!

You know, in a way I do get that and I understand people doing that so a pup does not suffer. But, perhaps surrendering her to someone who could help was another option.

OR trying to find a way to get funding. This is just so sad. I will pray extra hard for Jazi.

You mentioned losing another one recently. Perhaps you need to look at getting insurance if you are determined to have a pup. If you cannot afford these emergencies, you really need to dig deep and think about other options.
