One of mine had kennel cough & she would spit up from coughing. Has your pup vomited since this morning? Maybe he just had a mild upset tummy? Just so you know, the medication won't actually cure the cough. The medicine is so to kill anything that may cause further respiratory infections or pneumonia. I know you know that because you wrote it in your post. But I didn't realize that when my little girl had kennel cough. The cough itself lasts for a long time - even months. So he might not be "sick" anymore, but still have a lingering cough for a while. But that doesn't mean he's not better.
