We don't get out much, but I haven't had anyone try to touch Huey without asking first "is he friendly?" If I don't like the look of that person, I will say something like "he doesn't like to be touched", but if they look ok, I will say yes and let them pet. I think I, personally, put out a pretty strong "don't touch me" vibe (I have a really big personal bubble and become very uncomfortable when people get inside its radius uninvited), so I think that may be part of why they always seem to ask.
