I think collars are extremely important but only for an id tag because these little ones are known to dart out the doors its always best to have one on them if you lose sight of them and they are gone unless they are going in a crate. I use the very thin ones that are 3/15" to make sure it is very comfortable. Now when your using the leash you need to make sure to never hook it to the collar but to a harness. All these things are brand new to them so it is going to take them time to get used to things. I would not leave the harness on all the time and only put it on when you need to use the leash because a harness can be chewed on and cause hair loss where it rubs if it is constant. Sense she is so young it is best to keep her inside and not take her to pet stores or for walks until about 2 weeks after her last puppy shots or she could get parvo and it seems to be running rampant right now.
