I don't think it's actually about the "hair" when you use people shampoo...I think it's how the shampoo affects their skin. I used an EXPENSIVE shampoo on Baby once (cost more than doggy shampoo!), and Baby got dandruff. I think the PH balance is different.

PS. Then again, I know a woman who uses Nexus on her dog (not a Yorkie, though), and it's fine. Maybe it depends on the dog.
