Zoey doesn't look cottony to me. Fluffy, yes...but not really cottony. Then again, I haven't felt her hair.
My favorite brush spray is Isle of Dogs Silky Coating Brush Spray. You spray it on before you brush & it really helps with tangles. Diluting any conditioner in water works too. But I just like the scent of the Isle of Dogs stuff. You can spray a little all over the coat, or spray it directly on the mat/tangle, or spray it on the brush before you brush her.
I'm sure that she'll be adorable with long hair.
