My dogs will often get mucus in stool when they have upset tummys...and my little guy has had a little blood from straining. My boys have very sensitive stomachs and it doesn't take much to rock the boat.

Some of time, the cause of the upset tummy's has been from eating a food that doesn't agree...but a lot of times, it's due to stress...stress from a vet visit, a long car ride or a trip.

I don't think I'd be as concerned with mucus as much as I would be with why it's happening. Is there anything you can correlate between all 4 times...a change in diet/food...something significant that happened that would cause stress or anxiety in past few days~a trip to the vets or groomers, a car ride, etc etc.

I started keeping a journal of what happened and when, and it really helped me out. I recorded pretty much everything my dog had eaten within the day or two leading up to the diarrhea...any outings etc etc. He was having diarrhea fairly regularly though....like about once every week or two.
