Service dogs and emotional support dogs are two different things. Emotional support dogs are allowed in housing where pets are not allowed as well as you can have them on air planes. A service dog is a dog that does things to help you with your disability and can go any where. There is no actual service dog registry but i do not know about emotional support animals.
