Did you ever get any dental cleanings? ( At the Vet) Peanut is 6 years old and he has had… at least 4 dental cleanings, under anesthesia at the Vet. I try to brush, but he puts up a fight and it is so hard to get in the way back ( his mouth is very small). So with that, I make sure I get his professional dental cleanings. Every time he gets his teeth cleaned he gets a clean bill of health for a healthy mouth, no teeth pulled.

I know Yorkies have bad teeth, I have noticed Peanut’s tarter builds up rather quickly. Yes brushing will help some, but it is not going to get all that plaque off. Under anesthesia cleanings are as needed and should be done.

Moving forward I would try to brush more often. As much as you can. I would also maybe in 6 months check to see how much tarter has built up, then in another 6 months take him into the Vet to see if the Vet thinks he needs a cleaning. Try to see how long it takes for him to “need” a cleaning. Doing this will make sure your baby doesn't need any more teeth pulled on the next cleaning.
