I have a 14 year old poodle that lost her vision (and her eyes) to glaucoma. She's completely blind now. Give your baby a little time. The gentle bumping into things is the way they map their surroundings and learn to get around. It took my girl a few months before she was completely comfortable on stairs and places in the house that she wasn't all that familiar with. She has her comfort zones, which are mainly my bedroom, kitchen, hallway and bathroom. She occasionally ventures out to other rooms but still does the gentle bumping thing to orient herself to where she's at in those rooms. Placing different textured throw rugs in certain transition areas is helpful and will assist her in orienting herself from place to place. Good luck. It really IS harder on us than them.
