Today was the day; our first vet visit. Our local area is big on farming, so they had out back a huge barn for holding horses and cattle, and next to that a large shed because they often take in strays and adopt them out themselves! They also have several vets on hand.
We sat in the waiting room for awhile, checking out all the doggies and letting people come up and pet Maisy. I loved that people seemed so excited to see her, "A yorkie! Oh, they're so precious!"
Then we went into the vet's office and the door slammed and you could hear everything outside amplified quite a bit. Once we sat her on the table, she started shaking like a leaf! Luckily I thought ahead and brought her a rawhide stick. I distracted her with the rawhide and she seemed perfectly content after a few seconds.
Then the vet walked in and he seemed very friendly. He loved all over Maisy and she loved right back! She seems to charm everyone she meets!
After some talking, he did a normal check up; eyes, ears, heartbeat, etc. Then he did a fecal exam and boy she did not like that! But she got over it pretty quickly, and it came back negative, yay!
Then came the shot. Boy, I have never heard her cry and scream so much. She's pretty sensitive though, so I wasn't surprised. I'm used to having pretty hardy dogs, but she yelps if she buts her head into a wall

She cried when he first gave it to her. Then she was quiet. Then she started screaming again out of nowhere and didn't stop for awhile
The vet and I both felt so bad for the little girl, poor thing was so upset.
Then he gave us a binder full of pamphlets, a health record, Advantage II flea medicine sample, and a calendar and we were on our way. Our next visit is in a month and she'll get the same treatment. By that time I wouldn't be surprised if she comes to hate the vet
The pictures I included were of her in the waiting room, on the table, a cute cat picture in the office called "Fat cat capsizing", when I took her to my friend's workplace and she saw her reflection for the first time

, and two pictures in the car on the way home.
