Congratulations! What kind of dog did your friend get?
My daughter volunteered at our Humane Society in high school (back when she thought she wanted to be a vet). There were so many dogs. The older dogs especially got looked over in favor of young puppies. She found it heartbreaking when old dogs surrendered by their owners after so many years, sat their maximum 30 days with no one wanting them (or less when they were filled to capacity) & were then euthanized.
