Also, neither one pay for vet costs for the visit. Example: My dog is diabetic and needs to see the vet 4-5 times a year. Just to walk into the office for the visit is $80. So $80 x 5 = $400! Then ya have your co-insurance and if applicable, your deductible. I called PetPlan and found out that they are based out of Philadelphia (which is a plus since I live just live an hour away). The bronze plan with a $200 deductible and no co-insurance (they pay 100%) came out to $25/month. Also, the adjuster told me that if I call him and purchase the policy over the phone, he will give me another 5-10% discount. Looks like PetPlan for me! | After all of the discounts, I paid a little over $21 a month. The only thing that concerned me was that PetPlan has a 6 month waiting period from the time the policy takes effect on injuries to the knees, patella problems, etc. The only way they would pay for injuries to the knees within that 6 month period is if you get a vet within the first 30 days the policy takes effect to document that the knees are healthy. I took JuneBug to the rescue clinic and their vet did it for me so I have documentation. It can be ANY vet as long as they are licensed. Most of these policy holders are going GREEN and have most documentation online. Since I live in the boonies and my online access is sometimes down for a long period of time, I requested them to send it to me in paper form. It's a good idea for most of you to do the same as I did, as a backup. I received it yesterday and I am going to read through it later this evening.
