5 years ago I decided I wanted a puppy. I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that I wanted a small dog that was hypoallergenic since I have allergies. I was in between Yorkies and Maltese's. One day a friend told me about a breeder about an hour away that was selling a litter of Yorkies. That night I drove up and walked into the ladies house and she insisted I sanatize my hands before entering her house. When I arrived there was only 2 puppies left a boy and a girl. As soon as I walked in the boy puppy crawled quickly to me. I knew it was meant to be. I came back 2 weeks later and picked him up and he slept in my arms the whole car ride home. 5 years later and Dino is the love and my life and sometimes I can't imagine my life without him.
A few years ago my mom worked at a building that overlooked a person's backyard. One day she spotted a Yorkie in the backyard and began to pet him. She noticed that the neighbors were never home and that he never seemed to have food. (She later found out that it was a truck driver that lived there and would leave for days or weeks at a time and leave him with no food). Everyday her and her co-workers would set aside a little bit of their lunch to give him. On days it rained he would sit out in the rain. My mom told me about him and we started going every night to pass him food from the fence. He was always very friendly and happy to see us. One day when I was out of town I got the call that changed my life forever. She told me that the owner caught her giving the dog food and told her she can keep the dog because he didn't want him. I told my mom to go for it. His hair was long and all matted we had to shave him low. The water was black when I showered him and he was extremely skinny and had lumps all over his side. Within a few weeks his coat became soft and silky, he gained some weight and all the lumps were gone. He was a healthy puppy. He came with the name Bucket so I wrote him in as Charlie Bucket. We call him Mr. Bucket around the house now
They are such small dogs from completely different backgrounds yet they have so much personality and love. I love yorkies!!
