I am pretty sure he still has some of his puppy coat and that is why I have been having such trouble...but I finally ended up finding a solution. I took the thinning sheers and thinned out his coat and it has helped so much. I also have his belly shaved and the tail area trimmed short. I still have to brush him twice a day, but thinning his coat has helped out immensely as it hasn't been matting like it was. I didn't want to cut his coat at all, but this was definitely a better alternative than shaving it off.
Does anyone know how the adult coats usually grow in??
It looks like Ricky has grey pants on with a black t-shirt. IMO, it seems like his butt and his face are starting to grow in his adult coat first and his neck and shoulders and rib cage are all still baby hair. He is my first younger yorkie so this is all new to me. |
