I agree that time is the answer. When we brought my daughter home, my yorkie hated her. I let him sit in the rocker with us and he would give her the "stink eye" and try to nip her if he could. After a couple or three weeks he would get up with us and curl up.
Then he would watch her while she was in her seat or in her swing. He was no longer my shadow he stayed with her wherever she was. They were best buds from the time she could walk and talk and her first word was "puh" for puppy dog.
