Hello all,

My grandmother recently started chemotherapy and radiation and Sophie is very attached to her as it is, and is even more so her "sidekick" since she's been sick. She usually cuddles with her on the couch during the day and they watch law and order and she takes rides to the bank with her and attacks the vacuum

anything Gram does Sophie wants to help her do. However, with her becoming ill Sophie is VERY nervous and jumpy as I'm sure she senses something is wrong. She has gone through three rounds of treatments and she knows something is not right and she very rarely leaves her side.

For instance, the other night Sophie was sleeping with me on the couch and she heard a car outside. In typical yorkie fashion she bolted out of bed and went to investigate. I fell back asleep but re-awoke to find Sophie still MIA which is odd because she usually comes and snuggles back under the covers. While she was in the kitchen she must have heard my grandmother in her bedroom cough or roll over and she went in to check on her. I went down the hall to check on her and Sophie managed to crack the door open and squeeze through it. She was literally running from side to side around the bed frantically trying to get up on the bed to check on her. She wasn't crying or making any noise, she was just focused on finding a way up on the bed. I have to admit it was adorable and sweet to watch how much Sophie cares for her. When I picked up Sophie as not to wake up my grandmother but she would not stop trying to get near her. I put her on the bed and she insisted on giving Grammy kisses and waking her up and would not leave her side and did not sleep all night. Eventually Sophie relaxed enough to lay down right up next to her but she was mighty tired the next day

I woke up and went to check on them and my grandmother was sound asleep with Sophie snuggling behind her knees trying to fight sleep.

I just wanted to share a heartwarming story about how much love this little girl brings to us and how much her little personality traits and quirks mean to us.
