Thank you all for checking in on us, it is very much appreciated !!
Oh believe me Carmen I know, I was very worried as I'm sure you and sadly many of us know all too well. This is only one of two really bad scare that I have had with any of my pups in the past 11 years. So, I feel very lucky and I pray that this was my last. I think I handled it well, I was able to stay calm and no over react and get her the proper care. Update: She has had her third and a second round of two different antibiotics and a second dose of the pain meds since yesterday. Looking forward to waking up to a new and renewed pup in the morning. (Keeping my fingers crossed) I cant imagine the hunger she is feeling right now. She is my big girl and she loves to eat. She never misses a meal so this is certainly a new experience for her.
The drool and thick mucus in her mouth is getting better. I'm listening to her sleep (snore) right now and she sounds better too. No drooling or gagging reflex from saliva. For a while I was so worried that she would drown on her own saliva, it was that bad and it was very scared and worried about the possibility. Plus, she was having such a hard time breathing through her nose from all of the mucus that I hadn't been allowing her to be out in the heat for too long. Afraid that it may just be too humid for her.
