 High Kill Shelters??
How do you tell if a shelter is a high kill shelter??
I've heard lots of rescues refer to picking up dogs from high kill shelters.
I would assume that most shelters labeled "Animal Control" are high kill shelters. But I've looked at other shelter websites, trying to find their euthanasia policy and some don't have it.
Just wondering because I am in the process of helping a friend rescue a fur baby and he'd like to save an older dog out of a high kill shelter...one that may not have such a good chance finding a home otherwise. |
