A Question of routine? Background;
Girl 'Crystal' born 1/11/13, we re-homed her June 18th this year, to a quiet retired couple home, with no other pets. Good natured little soul, who desperately wants to please.
I've noticed our little girl is becoming a real 'creature of habit' and seemingly really enjoys the routine? There's the 'Hello Dad' ears flat, qoing around in demented circles greeting every morning. This followed by the regular boundary check up round my room. Then it's out to the balcony to watch the world go by for a while. Itinerately and without fail, there follows the mad half hour play time. My arm nearly drops off after flinging the 'Pershawnak' (Russian phonetic for piglet, cos her mom's a Russki) favorite soft toy to far flung corners. Now it's light breakfast time, after which we periodically but without fail visit Dad, as he's sometimes on that thing (Crystal note: Dad calls him Mac, I think)? Very often she gets on her chair next to mine and has a peep too! When that's over it's lunch, followed by the early pm walk for about half an hour. Then it's the afternoon nap for both parties, but she prefers this solo in her room and in her basket! Prior to 'Tea Time' we sit on the window couch in mum's room surveying the world from the top floor! 'Tea and Biccies' (cookies) emanate from the Kitchen, followed by more Russian piglet tossing and the late afternoon cuddle up next to Dad. Mom gets home (from working to cover holiday leaves at present) about this time and a jointly frenetic welcoming ceremony ensues. This includes lots of sloppy russki talk, loads of Yorkie slurper kisses, getting held up in the air, alternating with huge hugs. Then it's dinner time, cooked chicken normally. At 8pm it's the big walkie with Dad. About two miles all told, she even knows which benches we rest up at now. A few fan club members to deal with. Then home as dusk beckons, for yet more nonsensical Russki greeting talk, and the hugging bit. Her evening comb, eyes cleaned, vaseline around the tips, bit follows, After a crafty 'biccie' corner with Dad, it's off to bed with Mom. However as Dad stays up later, increasingly she gets a sleepy mom to release her for the odd half hour with him. Finally and very peacefully she lays at Mom's door, awaiting entry, where she quietly retires for the night?
Is yours a creature of routine too I wonder, especially the 'postprandial' (after dinner) kips? |
