My gran taught me how to sew at 7. She always said if you can sew a straight line you can sew. You also need to cut straight too. It is really easy to sew. They have a bunch of easy sew patterns. They are simple. Also check out your nearest Joann's. Some of them have classes. Also there might be a fabric store in your area. I belonged to a medieval group and some of them wanted to learn how to make their own clothes. A friend and I taught a small group.
