My daughter's yorkie has a cotton coat. I keep it short for her but the mats have improved with using Yorkie Splash and Shine and using a silk harness that one of the YT members sell. My boy's coat has improved since getting the harness too but he has a different kind of coat. Other harnesses would break his coat on his back. The member that makes them is Chattiesmom. They are absolutely worth it.
