I've never given it, but I know it can be given to larger dogs. But a 2 mg tablet (the OTC dosage) is what you would give a 40 pound dog!

Has the pup been seen by a vet to determine the cause of the diarrhea ? Are there other symptoms present? Depending on the cause, treatment can range from bowel rest to antibiotics.
