Default English Bulldog vs.Yorkshire Terrier

So I'll be bringing my new furbaby home in a little over a week... 11 days to be exact...I have OCD lol. My question is: What to do with my bulldog? She's not food/dog/toy aggressive. She only has her hackles raised when my son is being put on punishment/scolded because she feels he is HER baby lol. She's a very sweet dog who just happens to think she weighs 5 lbs instead of 50 (she doesn't like when we talk about her weight hehehe). So far my bulldog has had free access to our home until the past 2 weeks I sectioned off our kitchen so she could get used to the Idea of not being able to go in(this is where the puppies x pen, bed, food, toys and crate are located). But she is still a BIG STURDY dog and does not know her own strength. My neighbors dog is pretty small and kept getting in our yard a few months ago and she would play with their puppy, let her eat/drink out of her bowls, and whine when we put the puppy in a crate til our neighbors came by to pick her up. At that time their pup had to be 4lbs or less. I know I have to supervise them regardless...but is there anyone who has a larger dog then brought home a smaller have any pointers? I could let one of my friends on base keep her for few days until the puppy is adjusted...would that work? I've only boarded her once when we were visiting my in-laws who are anti animals in home and I dont think she liked the experience(she knocked me over trying to get to me when picking her up). I really don't want to "kick my dog out" even if it's just for a day or two. Any advice will be appreciated
