I'm maybe not 100% proud of where I am at in life right this second, but I am only 21 and know this isn't all life has in store for me! I was putting myself through school to be an elementary school music teacher, with no help from my family, but that didn't really work out. I took some time to work a lot and now I am going back to school in just a few weeks for a vet tech degree!
So I'll be a full time student while also working 3 jobs: groomer assistant/receptionist (I'll probably have to quit after school starts), humane society animal care tech (basically same thing as a vet tech without the degree) and I work for Subway. Yes, I know...subway. two yrs ago it started as making sandwiches part time and now I've moved up quite a bit. I recently got a huge promotion, doing catering coordination and deliveries for all events at Texas A&M, running to the bank, filling out paperwork, inventory, scheduling product deliveries, making schedules, disciplinary writeups, and maintaining productivity goals in 3 stores in my area. I get bonuses if my 3 stores have the best productivity in town. I got a little office in the main offices building, which is right across the street from my apartment, and they even said I can bring one of the dogs with me once in a while (sadly not both though) so it's great because I can drive across the street and check on the girls throughout the day.
I'm really excited about it even though it's kind of an embarassing job when everyone else in this thread has these legitimate careers and degrees, but for my age I think I'm doing well, and I mostly wanted this position for the manager experience plus getting the health benefits doesn't hurt either. |
