My dog has this disease. He's not a puppy so surgery will be done when he becomes clinically affected. I would only have a board certified surgeon perform the surgery and for now my dog is monitored yearly by a diplomat of the ACVS. By the way, the rehab for FHO in dogs is quite easy compared with CCL or patellar issues.
