I don't know if an x-pen will do. Jasmin learned to climb out of her x-pen. We had to buy metal shelvings to put on top of the x-pen so she can't escape but then it became too ugly in our kitchen. Also she started chewing on the plastic sides. We would come home to find blood stain on the plastic sides. We decided to buy an X-large black metal crate. We love the black crate. I can't believe we didn't buy this in the first place. She has so much room to move around in yet she is safe when we are not home. It fits nicely into the space in the kitchen and looks much better than the x-pen. The black metal crate has two doors, we locked one of the door up with zip ties.
