Default Hello From Idaho

Hi everyone! My name is Tammy and I live in a very small rural town in Idaho. I am the new momma to a 1 year old rescued "parti" yorkie named Piper. I'm brand new to yorkies so was doing a search to find more info and came across YT. Hoping to learn lots from you all!!

My girl came from a breeder/hoarder that had 60+ yorkies and had no dog food so was feeding them all bird seed!! She was severely malnourished, had mites, lice, worms, coccidia, ear infections and a mouth infection. She was in another breeders home for 4 months before coming to live with me. I have had her a little over a week and she is still a little skittish but I see huge improvements in her on a daily basis. She is very small weighing in at 2lbs 9oz but is very small framed. For some reason around this time of night she acts very scared at the TV especially. She does not like for you to be in her face and will look away from you. This makes me sad because I just want to kiss her!! She's getting better though.

Anyone have any good feed suggestions to try and put a little bit of weight on her? She will be going to the vet in the next couple of weeks to be spayed and I worry about her being so little.

She has been to her first professional groomers appointment and that didn't go too well. My groomer is AWESOME and just did what Piper would allow her to do because she didn't want to freak her out too bad. Anyone have suggestions on helping her there? I do brush her on a daily basis and have ordered shampoo, conditioner, and detangler from Yorkie Splash and Shine. I do have clippers and was wondering if I just turned them on if that would help her become a little less scared of the sound???

Thank you for any tips and advise and looking forward to my yorkie journey!!
