Absolutely. You do all the training yourself so your dog knows how to follow your direction, bond with you when being taught new things and learns to look to you for his leadership. No need in the world to pay for a trainer except for someone who just doesn't have any real dog skills or their dog is seriously psychologically damaged and a special rehab behaviorist might be needed. Otherwise, you can do it for free using internet or advice from any positive-reinforcement training method.
