I will still post things I make for my own and as for gifts though. For example, the crate cover I want to do. I know if I ever get it done and figured out, I'd like to share in case someone might want to converse with me about it. But as far as dresses or outfits that go on my own Facebook page or Etsy shop, I will not be putting them here. I just think it would be best for me as I do not want to make anyone mad or bend the rules. I would go along with whatever guidelines are set down as I love YT and enjoy being here. I just think for my own personal use, it's best if I don't post things as before. I'm not sure of the other 'vendors' who also post in this section and how they feel, but I sure do enjoy seeing their creations! |
Aymee, I think you're going to have a mutiny on your hands if you stop posting, so you better re-think this

. No seriously, no one wants you to stop sharing your beautiful creations....and clearly, no one wants to lose you as an inspiration for their own work. You *are* following the rules, you're not bending them - so please don't worry about that aspect. As long as you're posting within the guidelines, you should feel confident in sharing whatever you wish!

I just recently found the for sale thread and felt comfortable enough with my work to post there and with any luck I will make a few sales. If not that's fine too. I see no need for any one of us to stop posting as long as everyone follows the rules that are in place and set by YT. their should be no reason for people who I have gotten my inspiration from to want to stop posting their work. There is so much more than just fashion to the FF but it is just that. A place to show our work, to be inspired and to inspire other. It has become a place to learn and to teach others and to ask for and give help where needed.
I for one would hate to see Aymee or anyone of us stop using the FF in the manner it was put in place for. We should be able to post without feeling we are doing something wrong. I cant see how anyone would have an issue with us doing what YT has put in place for us to use as long as it is use properly. |

Nowhere is Ann's post did she mention that those of us who do sewing whether for profit, fun, or otherwise needs to stop posting. Only that there is a limit to the amount of post that YT allows per week. Which is quite understandable once you take note of the number of members who sew and share their work here in the FF. I think a limit is a good thing which I'm sure others would agree.
As for me, I will continue to share my creations and sewing projects while following the FF rules and I hope that the rest of you will do the same. |
Exactly, this is was just a friendly reminder because we had a few new folks to this area who weren't aware of the section rules. We have to be direct and timely about matters like this because we always want to try to be fair to all.
The fashion forum is intended to be a fun place to share your creations, get feedback, discuss projects, and share expertise.
Where it can venture into a grey area is when it's mostly only vendors posting, and then this section appears to be a 'display' and a second For Sale section for vendors. And *that's* where it starts to feel unfair to our other vendors who sell other things on YT. They start asking why clothes vendors get an entire other section to post pictures of their products. For example, we have people here who sell grooming supplies - they are not allowed to post pictures of their product in their own thread in the Grooming forum, even though that's what they sell. Nor do they get a 2nd, separate section where they can share about their products. There is ONE place where their product can be seen -- and that's in the For Sale section. Whereas for clothing vendors, they have this section as an additional space to show their wares. And while that's not necessarily the intention here (to show what you're
selling), we all need to be sensitive to our fellow members and sellers as to how it appears. SO, that's where the one thread a week offers some equality and some fair limits.
Anyone and everyone who has a creation to share here should feel welcome to share, as long as they're willing to follow the rules of the section. That's all. And if a member is interested in an item you show and they accidentally ask about it in the thread, PM them and address it privately, so that your thread doesn't turn into a sale thread.
This should be a FUN forum/section of YT - a lighthearted, drama free zone. Don't let negativity turn it into something else

.
