This is excellent advice and a perfect strategy! If I were to give advice, that's exactly what I'd say.

If you just try to put a bow on your Yorkie's head, it's only natural that he/she'll think "
there's something up there!" and most likely will want to remove it. It's a new, foreign object and feels strange to your little one. Sometimes, a bit of bow training (and patience) is necessary. Good luck!
