All members of my all-breed club (most show confirmation and agility/trail) and do a great job taking care of their babies (dogs) - they are all against this Bill!
The Bill before stated something like this:
They said that if you bought a dog overseas - this would stop that. I do not like someone telling me if I can by a dog or not - just because it is overseas. If it is a great dog - I should have the option to do so. Second - say you bought a dog in NC and you live in FL and have a friend or your handler pick it up for you since they will be near there. Then you and the person picking up your dog would need a USDA license. And third - if you co-owned any male dogs - you too would need a USDA license.
And finally the club was against this Bill because AKC would also be the main one monitoring and fining ($) people. Hmmmm? Who would be profiting here then????
If the Bill actually protected dogs/animals I would be for it totally. Seemed like the Bill exculted (before) Pet Shops and Puppymills.
