Jess does the same thing. She pooped at the door I left from. She would mess the crate and drag it all over. I ended up putting her in the mudroom with a small crate with the door open and a blanket over it and comfy covers in it, a regular bed on the floor, peepad water and toys. It has a window an plenty of moving room. It worked! She pooped and peed on the pad and didn't step in it. We even left for almost 5 hours. I finally realized she hated the crate. Also, when a I left her in a large room it was just too overwhelming. The mud room is like 9 by 8
