When we first picked Sophie up her name was Charlotte - I loved the name and was planning to call her Charlie for short, but I had always planned on getting a female yorkie and naming her Lexie...but she didn't really suit either of those names and within an hour of picking her up, I wasn't happy.
Her early vet records are actually in the name Abby and she was 'Abby' for a bit but I still kept thinking of new names because Abby wasn't sticking...I randomly thought of the name Sophie, she looked at me and the name has remained
Of course now she is usually called Pumpkin, Peanut or Stink Bug...but I love her name and can't imagine calling her anything other than Sophie. Besides, my husband and I now have a black lab named Abby. We picked her up, said we liked the name Abby and it has never been anything else!
