Welcome to YT!! 9oz is really tiny and 7weeks is very young. Baby should of stayed with mommie until 12weeks. It is VERY important that you keep your baby warm. Use potty pads to keep him from getting exposed to anything outside. Even in your own yard there are dangers,hawks for one. It is also important to feed your baby several meals a day,use the food that the breeder used for a while. Their tiny tummys can get upset very easially,you can always change food later when pup is older. There is a ton of information here in the library on new pups and hypoglycemia the dangers and signs,this is something that can happen very easially to a pup under 3lbs.
As for your question about tapeworms. It is best to call your vet back and ask them. It may depend more on weight than age for such a tiny one. Be very careful using hartworm med,giving immunization shots all at once or spot on flea protection. |
