If you are considering this camera, I'd make sure it was at a substantial savings. They have updated it twice since it came out. There is a D3100 and D3200. Check the prices at buydig.com and B&H Photo. They are both very reasonable, reputable retailers. My close friend has this camera and loves it, but her son has the D3100. She said his is better, but she's still happy. For really fast action shots, the cameras with the motors built into them are better, but regardless, I'm sure you'd still love this camera.
