I was advised by a well known Biewer Terrier breeder that a high protein diet can cause health issues. She said that a diet consisted of 28% protein or less is sufficient for the smaller breeds (she breeds Biewer and Yorkies). Only thing is that she never told me why and what kind of health issues. I do feed my guy Authority Small Breed Lamb & Rice which is around 22% protein but some of his treats and jerkey contain over 50% protein.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!
