FOX BITE CONFIRMED FOR RABIES

On July 22, 2013 at 7:45 p.m., members of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Unit and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources responded to an area off Pilgrim Mill Road (Northeast Forsyth County) for a fox acting suspiciously.

Interviews conducted by the deputies and officers of DNR identified that two individuals were bitten by the fox. The two individuals received medical treatment at Northside Forsyth Hospital and released.

After searching the area, the fox was located and put down. Upon further testing, the fox tested positive for rabies.
