I did not think I would have to move either. I have to move in another 6 months and have started preparing paperwork already. If I did not know about the expected move, the same way as my 2 last moves, I would give the dog either to friends/family or someone who would be willing to take care of it for time being or for good. That is an alternative to putting it to sleep in host country or 150 day quarantine. For some, school is more important than their dog and I respect that. Just like I respect abortion in the name of schooling. Life is life and planning ahead does not always work.
