Some of the raw bones that you see at pet stores aren't really raw, they are smoked, and many vets advice against it. The dog just gnaws on them so that there isn't a choking hazard, but I forgot now what are the hazards, Joey had one once and loved it, but I threw it out after I read about all the problems it can cause. With the BARF diet, you actually feed a whole chicken leg or wing or neck. Joey choked on the neck, but someone told me later, I was suppose to hold one side and let him chew on it. Anyway, that what I meant by thoroughly research before you decide. Some people don't think you should be aware of the disadvantages, but I think it's safer to know both sides and what to do it something happens.

I do feed Joey bison back rib bones. Wylie's Mom recommended them and you can buy them at Whole Foods. There's just a tiny amount of meat on the ribs and the bones are too big for them to chew, but they can gnaw on them and wow do they love this treat.
