I have said this before, the only way these things will change is with the legal system. What they are doing is legal. What is not legal is having these animals in unheated, no food, no medical, conditions.
Many of these older animals can never adapt to living in a normal environment. There is a debate in rescue that as long as people (be it rescue or normal people) continue to buy these animals than supply and demand will continue producing the livestock.
If you search through YT you will see articles on the PAWS act which will help change some of these conditions but as long as we continue to turn our backs on what is going on in this country it will continue. Sad to say.
