No one with a "really great" purebred would sell a "designer" greeder one their dogs for breeding. No "really great" breeder wants their kennel name attached to such methods. Do you think they work for years to produce a healthy good looking line of dogs just to turn their name and reputation over to greeders? Dogs that are used for "designer" breeding are pet quality. They should never be bred but should be loved and enjoyed in a home that appreciates them for what they are.

Breeding one pet quality purebred to another pet of a different breed does not create hybrid vigor. It only creates a larger poor quality gene pool. It takes constant careful selective breeding to maintain a clean, gene pool. The people who do "designer" breeding are not improving anything. They exploit their animals for one purpose, and it is not the well being of either breed.
