I don't think the average person can just do that. Otherwise, we'd have so many more "breeds" than are currently recognized.

Consider the Biewer, for example. It's been more than 30 years in the making -- all started by an expert breeder -- and yet there are still issues and concerns and unanswered questions today. And there are many professional breeders involved with the betterment of the Biewer.

It's daunting. You're over-simplifying the process. That's dangerous!
