Hi! Macaw (& Yorkie) lover here. Yes, you should be concerned about your dog getting into your bird's droppings. They can carry parasites and diseases that they, themselves, might not react to. Also, your bird's diet may include foodstuffs not good for the pup. Suggest strong behavioral training. Does your cage have a perch on top? I've used a roller-based stand with a wide steel base to prevent droppings of food (both going in and out). lol. |
