Hi and Welcome you and Simba to YT! Sounds like Simba is a healthy puppy! I know it probably isn’t funny to you, but your story made me chuckle- seems Simba has you wrapped around that finger of yours!!

I think it is important for training purposes to take him out when he does ring the bell. Like you said maybe wait until he has done his business and take him back in, maybe you can reward him with a treat when you come in so he remembers “ Hey I get a yummy treat when I’m done with my potty’s” Maybe that would help incise him to get his little tail inside LOL

To stop the hyperness at night, unfortunately he is a puppy still and like a puppy he has tons of energy! If he doesn't get all his energy drained before bed- well that’s what you get. Can you maybe play with him an hour or so before bed time? I know when Peanut was a puppy I had to play with him a little before bed time so he would sleep through the night. We had our little playtime, then made him potty and I gave him a treat. We did that every night and he knew the routine within a week. Peanut also slept with us, so I think that helped.

Is Simba good on the bed? Can you throw him in with ya when he wakes up? I know they love to have that one on one attention, esp at night. I think they really sleep better when they are next to you.
