Default dental costs

I used to take my Graysee to the vet who initially did her spaying and other services, but when I was quoted a price in excess of $800, just for the cleaning (bloodwork, x-rays, etc. included), I found the Optimum Wellness Plan at Banfield Animal Hospital. The hospitals work in conjunction with Petsmart, and are typically located inside the Petsmart stores. My cost for the plan is $395 yearly, but that covers all doctor visits, vaccinations, a discount on all prescriptions, and one teeth cleaning per year (including all the prerequisites). They do a very good job, all the vets and assistants are very kind, gentle, and caring, and it is far less expensive than our original vet. Now, all that being said; if we ran into a life or death situation where expert surgery was required, I would likely consider our old vet, as he is a locally-renowned animal surgeon, and has been in the business for many years, and is also an animal rehabilitative specialist. But for the normal stuff, I trust the people at Banfield, and researched them extensively prior to signing up.
