That's a confusing part.. Mom gives babies anti-bodies to baby. So, you if wait until 8 or 9 weeks for puppy shots, and give shots every 3 weeks, they're older than 16 weeks which Vets recommend. Vets recommend you give 4 shots by time they are 16 weeks old. And why 16 week cut off?? It is confusing and all 4 of my Vets have different reasons and time frames.
If I give shots at 7, 10, 13, and 16 weeks it works by 16 weeks so that's usually what I do
