What people do probably varies depending on the length of the coat. If you dog is kept short, it's a lot easier. ZoE's hair is long (she's had a bit of a summer cut, so it's 3-4 inches off the ground), but she's a mess when she comes out of the water, and looks part poodle, as the end of her hair curl a little. I just let her air dry and rub a little conditioner that's been diluted with water, into her coat as she's drying. I then comb her through at night before bed. ZoE pretty much goes in the water on the weekend & Sunday evening is bath time, so it works for us.
