I bought a comb at the CVS that is wonderful for getting those little mats out without excessive pulling of the hair. It is actually a teasing comb with 3 rows of bristles-the 2 outer rows are thicker, the middle row is a thinner, tighter comb. I couldn't get a picture to load, but here is a link to a photo.
