My 5 1/2 pound(at the time) Tibbe squeezed himself through the approx. 3" opening between one of our back gates and the gate post as I had run to answer the phone or run to the restroom or some situation like that!!! He's rather sturdy for his size and there is no way I'd have thought he could get out of the back yard but I learned the hard way that a very small dog like a Yorkie is never really secure in some confinements.
